Are you sure that isn't a trilby?

I have two fedoras, a homburg, and even a coachman myself... I find the younger generation has a tendency to call trilby's "fedoras". Thanks to misinformation due to the interwebz. :3

You can identify fedoras due to having a wider brim, as well as usually being made out of better materials, usually felt. The best example is if you look at "film noir" or "mobster" movies, their hats are fedoras. I think that most folks call trilby's fedoras because they look somewhat similar.
