“The door of the mausoleum creaked, as Velant forced it open. The smell of bitumen and decay rushed out from the darkened chambers below. Kalani held the torch ahead, as the pair made their way slowly down the tomb’s marble stairs. Passing into the ancient family tomb, Velant searched for movement, a shiver ran down his spine, as a rustling of leaves resounded ahead. They turned down the first turn of the mausoleum, to the newer tombs, past crumbling pillars and mourning angels to the most recent chamber.
Here surrounded by racks of extinguished votive candles, and rotting grave goods, lay the coffin. The carved effigy covered by a pall of spider webs, lay silent, and the lid sealed. Velant shot Kalani and inquisitive look, her expression mirrored his. They did not expect her tomb to be shut. Discouraged, they searched the funerary chapel, for signs of the desecration they were sure took place here. Moments passed, and nothing. Then the rustling returned, directly behind them.
Before their eyes an apparition manifested behind them. A woman dressed wholly in white, with pallid skin and blackened nails stood in front of the coffin. Her eyes glowed from beneath the rotten veil, and blood dripped from her mouth. The unholy mockery of the magistrate’s daughter snapped her head towards Velant and lunged.”

You can really feel how thin and wispy the ruined dress and cobwebs are, especially that frayed veil! ^^
