Yume:: Dream Weavers (Original Closed Species)
Yume are what gives us our dreams and nightmares. They exist because we exist. When a child is born, a Yume is born. And it is up to them to weave their dreams. These spiritual beings battle among each other, to determine if the human has a dream or nightmare. There are malicious Dream Weavers, who set out to inflict terror on those who are in the grasps of sleep. Each Yume watches over one dreamer, but nightmare Yume roam free to fulfill their evil desires. Yume act as guardians, as well as dream creators. With horns embellished in crystal, they provide protection for their dreamers. Yume do not have a gender, but can identify as male or female. They cannot breed. They are made out of the clouds of the dream world to suit the individual imagination of each human they are paired with. Nightmare Yume were born to be paired with children also, but broke away because the imagination of the human they were paired with became dark and dreadful. This changed them, and instead of remaining loyal to the child they were paired with, they travel the dream world, looking for windows into the innocent minds of other humans and try to invade their dreams with their worst nightmares.
Yume have many different variations thanks to the different imaginations of their dreamer. Most appear to have a canine like body, feather like tufts on each side behind the legs with various crystal centered horn shapes, most commonly a set of two. They are commonly long haired and have cloven hooves. Their heads are large and angular at the bridge of the nose (some more refined than others), some have shorter necks while others have long necks. Their tails vary from tufts of fur to long flowing hair. Coat colours vary from bright an colourful to more natural hues.
Yume are a closed species. Do not under any circumstances make one without the permission of their creator.
I am trying to flesh them out more before making them available to users other than friends.
Please let me know what you think of this species!
