What kind of a creature lays an egg like this and makes a nest out of bronze and steel? A dragon? A phoenix? I am not sure.
This is a Kings Maille nest made from stainless steel and bronze. The stone is a simple goldstone egg. I thought about putting a bloodstone in but I think this looks better.
This is something I made on accident. I WAS practicing basketry theory and suddenly I thought to myself. "this would look awesome holding up my stone eggs"
So what do you guys think? I would really like some input on this one. Is this win? Would you buy this sort of thing? Should I make more?

They never bother me any because I end up learning them the hard way anyway. They give a general idea and I just play with them untill they work. Honestly the best way to learn a weave is to hold a chunk of it in your hand and think to yourself. "How does this work" and study its properties. Then try to mimic it.
Really? Full persian is easy and is one of my specialties. Funny enough the half persians are way harder. The trick to FP 6-1 is getting it started is kind of a pain untill you figure it out but then it is smooth sailing from then on out. I have experimented with the persian family a lot and know several cousins to FP 6-1....like right now I am baffled by the sudden obssesion in the chainmaille community with Sweet Pee...I made that crap on accident while figuring out ways of splicing lengths of full persian together and I did not think anything of it....go figure someone started making tutorials for it and now EVERYONE is making the stuff.
But anyway maybe I can help you with that.

I havent played with my rings in a while....I think Ive been too enamoured with quilting and knitting lately. I think once I get back on track with work (we had a 2 week hold after xmas and then i got hit by this damn cold), and save up some cash so i can order some anodized aluminum...I think i will message you for some assistance.
Yeah sure just sent me a message and I will see if I can help you out. If nothing else I can show you close up pics of the weave while I am weaving it or something.
Word of warning on the anodised if you have never worked with it before. Pliers scratch the hell out of it if you don't grip it JUST right...or use special tools.
