Heh, sorry, I was trying to make a subtle reference. It reminds me of some of the magic and gestures Ursula makes in The Little Mermaid, during the song "Poor Unfortunate Souls." Of course, he doesn't really look anything like Ursula except for having the broad chest and shoulders...but that's what I'm reminded of.
