Desperate to save the egg, Victoria quickly brought in the egg and bundled up close around it, activating her Warm Body.
Skrap found Victoria holding an egg, but he does not know where it came from. He could not think it could be her egg, since she has not had any recent contact with any male Pokémon.
Regardless, it was their egg now, and they needed to make sure it gets the best care they know how.
When morning came, Victoria found a small Fennekin in place of the egg, and immediately fell in love with it. She was relieved that the small thing had survived such terrible conditions.
However, when Skrap tried to talk to the Fennekin, something was wrong; it was as if the Fennekin never knew that Skrap was there despite his calling out to her.

I know about those, my father had to get one for his right ear.
basically it discharges tiny electrically impulses to stimulate the nerves for the ear, however if the fennekin has nerve damage, then it's not really an option.
there is quiet a lot of ways one can go deaf, damage to inner ear, infection, damaged nerves, malformed ear ducts.
