My friend of many years passed away this morning.

We spent the morning driving around remembering camping and hikes and almost fourteen years of good days. If I were half the person he was, I'd be twice the person I am today.

He was my first dog, my late night listener. I asked him to live long enough to meet my first little one, and he stayed true to his promise and gave us six more beautiful weeks.

I hope he sleeps well, like my dad said when we were saying goodbye; "You're going to the biggest campground, and it's going to be so good."
