Gotta love them Swedish arms dealers, they know how to make a dime or 10.

My dad bought one of those rifles for $50 almost twenty years ago. We sighted in a trunk sized rock @ a mile With rangefinder). We were able to hit it with that rifle 8-9 times out of ten with open sights. The 6.5mm round is extremely flat shooting, and that rifle is more accurate than some rifles costing ten times as much. Not bad for fifty bucks.

I paid $75 for mine ;) Of course in those days, a NIB, unfired Russian SKS was $99. Same with the 9x18 Makarov. Love Makarovs. (And SKS's)

Of course M96's quite a bit more these days... try $700 and up for a good one... Still a screaming deal.

Dayum you guys get some good deals. Now you're making me feel ripped off after getting an SKS made in 1956 with the shortened AK length barrel and detachable mags for 400$ during the whole Sandy Hook debacle. I am glad you enjoy your Swedish arms but 6.5 sounds like an uncommon round to me. :c

I think I'll pass 700$ for a bolt action, tis too much for my taste, I'll keep my dreams towards a PPSH, PSL or an RPK chambered for 7.62x54r when it comes to weapons of war.

The 9X18 Makarov is very similar to (but not interchangeable with a .380) in power. Yes, it is on the lower end of the power spectrum as far as defensive cartridges, but I still wouldn't want to take a round out of one of them.

Huh, all my shepherds have been smaller than the "Average". But they've all been wonderful, loyal friends who have made a deep impression in my life. I guess it's not the size of the dog, it's the size of the heart in the dog...
