I sometimes do these fun little challenges where I design a character around an outfit adopt that I purchase.
This particular outfit was designed by CherrysDesigns, who does some of the most beautiful outfits I've ever seen. I've actually bought a few outfits from her, but this is the first time I've gotten to draw one myself. Only because most of the ones I've bought I've planned on giving to humanoid characters rather than anthros... and unfortunately I haven't been drawing my human bebes much lately.

This particular outfit was part of her Chinese Zodiac theme. More specifically, the year of the monkey. Since I do have a species (Shyrak) that is based on primates, I thought it would be a cute little tongue in cheek thing to actually give it to a monkey character. XD
Esecially since I haven't drawn one in a super long time.

I try to negate the nasty stereotypes of "zoo monkeys" with my shyraks. They tend to be very kind, sweet, playful and highly intelligent. However, at the same time can be really sarcastic and snarky. This lady in particular was given the colors of a golden snub nosed monkey because I thought that they would pop with the outfit.

She will be a member of one of my space pirate crews, though definitely not a captain. I haven't decided whose crew she will be one, but as of right now I'm debating between Kegan, Jayvar or Styx's crews.
