This is a neat Story. You should continue someday the kinetic and psychic background is a great sandbox to let your mind wander.

And you should take the time to describe everything. The history about the war is interesting and your protagonist can talk about it that 'late' (it isn't late, there was no space before that.)
You can make a whole chapter about it, because it's that interesting.
