For years, I've been fascinated with sea otters (both real and anthropomorphic ones). I got to see some (real ones) up close at the Monterey Bay Aquarium back in July, 1988, and I watch the occasional documentary about them on TV.

In 2005, while working in the Oakland Park Boulevard toll booth, I got around to penciling a comic strip gag about these mirthful mustelids - using photos from various nature magazines for the right poses. I would ink this strip later on, after my shift ended.

I liked this gag so much, I might redo it, in the form of a handmade "Get Well" greeting card...
