Incredibly smart for her age, Jen has always been a tinkerer.
Ever since she was a tiny little tot she was dismantling things and making new things, even though the dismantling of things tended to get her in trouble, especially when its expensive or highly technical equipment.
However her gadgets got her noticed and at the age of eight she is already "working" as part of the ships crew.
Working being the term used for when they can find her... and she's not using one of the ships main computers for spare parts.
(Will add more backstory and such as the character develops, had alot of fun making her.)
