This is Zoe Clarke, AKA the Beast, Giovanni's "daughter".

During the Shadowlands War, when the vampire nobility had sought to wipe out any opposition on Animus, they abducted a young fox girl from her homestead and used her to test experimental splicing techniques in the hope of creating a perfect warrior to fight Giovanni Magnus. At the final battle, when they had lost control of Umbra, Glacies and Fumus and eventually about to lose their influence over Cruor, the vampires unleashed the abomination that had once been Zoe upon the world, who bare the DNA of vampires and demons, in addition to some of Giovanni's blood, added into the mix to give her his immense control of the ancient elements. The war was won by the insurgents and the vampire nobility were defeated, but Giovanni refused to kill Zoe; after all, she was just another victim and had no real control over what she was doing.

However, the vampires decided to terminate her by causing the vampire genes to disintegrate, almost killing her, if it weren't for Giovanni's timely intervention which patched up the gaps in her DNA, using his own, more resilient lycan DNA to mend it and then fusing some of his power into a crystal node, placed into her spine, to keep her autonomic functions operational. As such, Giovanni is technically her only genetic relative, since her own family were slaughtered a long time ago, during the war, and the demon who donated his genes was, presumably, in pieces somewhere, technically making her his daughter.

Physically, she is an abominable creature with the potential to match Giovanni in both strength and stamina, but mentally she is but a young girl, scarred by years of abuse at the hands of the cruellest scientific practises. As such, she has been confined to Daemon's Cage, an asylum built to contain her, in the hopes she may one day be rehabilitated. When free of the agony of the tormented memories, she is lucid and has childlike naivety and curiosity, but this is rare. After so many years though, she has begun to learn a little more, but still needs constant monitoring.
