OC-October: Day 4 - A Mother's Love (Asrana and little Shay)
OC-October Day 4: Mother’s Love
This happens, when I get a brain fart while browsing tumblr. I get an idea and I *have* to finish it before going to bed. So have the pic for this day a bit early ;)
I can't draw kids, so i had to rely heavily on references. I like the outcome nonetheless. I think it's the sweetest thing I have ever made. D:
About the Characters:
Asrana Paligan is actually my very first TDE Character ever, I made her when I was 12. Asrana is a mage whose specialties lie in battle magic and demonology, but she excels also in alchemy while she fails in identifying spells.
She is the daughter of two Mages, so it wasn't a big surprise to them when they discovered that she also had the gift. At an early age she was given to an academy to learn to control her magic, but when she turned 12 it was clear that the academy couldn't handle her, and expelled her.
Her parents searched for a mentor, and found one in Molgranoth, an Elf with questionable Background.
What happened is quite cliché, but they fell in love and after a while, they married. Everything looked to be wonderful. A few months after their marriage, Shayasanya was born.
Somewhile later, Molgranoth was murdered, for reasons no one knew, but Asrana, mad with grief and with a burning anger, went after the killers, who turned out to be knowing nothing – which didn't help them much.
So there she was, a young widow with a young daughter, and she steeled her heart after Mol's burial and went on to become one of the most respected – and most feared - Mages in Aventuria.
She had help in raising her daughter – A good friend of her's – Endijian - had married shortly before, and had become a father himself. He and his wife took them in, raising Shayasanya as their own as well – to that extend that Shay thinks of Endijian as her father, and Endijian's son, Zendijian, as her brother.
When Shayasanya was 5, Asrana was a little careless (and there was lots of drinks involved...) , and a few months later gave birth to a son, Rahjan. She couldn't - and wouldn't (nor he, her )- marry the father, but they still are very good friends.
Now nearly two decades have passed after Molgranoth died – but a little while ago, her father-in-law, Endymion Schattenmond, visited her with the news, that Molgranoth imay not be as dead as they thought he was...
