Sugar, Spice and Powdered Rice (Cappuccino)
September 22nd, 2008
Misfortune lurked around every corner, it had seemed, for each opportunity that Lindsey had taken up had resulted it in eventually crumbling around her. Her most recent had come to her as a great surprise, for it was something she had never expected to happen, even before she'd joined Naked Flame. The band had done well throughout the Don't Talk Rubbish! tour until the fourth song out of thirteen at their fourth stop, when their griffon vocalist David suddenly fell silent and clutched his chest, before he collapsed to the ground. Immediately their performance stopped, and they left as fast as they could despite the concern from some quarters of the audience and discontent from others.
When they got to the hospital, the doctors found that David had suffered a massive heart attack brought on by hypertension. In addition, they advised him to avoid stressful situations and not to continue performing to avoid putting any further strain on his body, which forced him to leave the band. Left without the frontman they and their fans had come to know and love, unfolding right in front of them was the darkest day in the band's history. Though David had survived this time, Brad did not know how much longer he would last.
Nonetheless, it hadn't taken them long to find a replacement, despite their initial reluctance to do so, wanting to wait until David had recovered. But Lindsey, Hannah, Brad and Travis alike knew that David would never perform with them again – something that, to their surprise, he had seemed to take in stride. The auditions had seen their choice picked due to Brad having taken a shine to one in particular, who he'd stated as having wiped the floor with the others. Lindsey could barely wait as the new vocalist was chosen, and who would soon be introduced to the band. Would this spell the band's future, or entail their demise?
What we have here is the first official picture of one of my older characters, Lindsey, a sweet and elegant catgirl whose prowess as her band's rhythm guitarist has earned her a whole new recognition from the one she had known before. Made by Cappuccino as the 54th slot of her Iron Artist challenge, we see her smiling and showing her palm as though to welcome - who might the new vocalist be, you wonder? You'll find out very soon. ^_^ Brilliant work once again, Cappuccino!
