Hah, they don't *literally* taste things through their hands, lol. There's no taste buds in there XD Raccoons actually "wash" their paws in water because the water softens the skin, making the nerve endings more sensitive. I don't know whether a raccoon would enjoy the feeling of gecko skin or not... guess it depends on whether it feels anything like something a raccoon might eat :P
