A while ago a friend gave me some helpful tips on how to do some sketches easier and faster. I got this done in about two hours which for a three part sequence I'm not too unhappy with! I was going to do a story with it but just haven't mustered up the willpower yet. So here's the pictures for y'all to see whilst I get my fat butt into gear <3
Edit: So some people wanted to know what the tips were, I'm absolutely happy to share! They told me about focal/directional lines, a line you draw first on the bottom layer to give the sort of direction that your character is going. This helps with coming up with interesting poses.
They told me not to focus on finishing the head so much (which I always do first), just block in the rough sort of direction you want it facing with a few lines and work on defining the gesture of the pose. Getting a rough pose that works is important!
Basically I used to draw the head completely before blocking everything else out slowly. This friend taught me that I can do a rough place-holder for the head and if I block out the rest of the sketch before refining anything I'll tend to have a better idea of how I want the end result to look and it'll come together faster <3
