I used something called scratchboard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scratchboard) which is usually a white board with a black ink coating over it which can be scratched away at to show parts of the white underneath C:

Interesting. I've seen similar techniques but I did not know of that one. Cool.
I'd be scared decause I don't think that allows much room for corrections though.
