Cindy's Sloppy Splendor (FA:United 2015 Commission)
Second commission of my Arist's Alley stint at FA:U 2015, this one is for
thehotrodhero, of his character Cindy Vanderspot. This pic is a sequel to Low Tide Dive, where Cindy took a headfirst dive into some mudflats left behind by a partially-drained pond. It appears that not only did she not hit any rocks going in, but managed to at least rinse her head and shoulders off before she emerged, triumphantly still mostly dripping with slimy mud. Or maybe she managed to perform a backflip and land in a seated position. in any case, she's clawed her way through the bottomless muck to emerge on the other side, her body a testament to her accomplishment.
Technical:
For display here I chose to perform a less intensive process to tweak the linework. Mostly I cleaned the backdrop, fixed lines that didn't quite meet up, filled in Cindy's spots where the ink didn't quite cover, and lengthened her left thumb. Afterwards I applied a gradient fill to the sky to make her stand out, and masked out a few clouds to break up the backdrop.
