Yeah she's a real piece of work! She wedged herself like that until the screen lifted some. Then she pushed her head through and got out!

I actually got her at a Petsmart! She was the only milksnake there, and had been there for over a year because no one wanted her :C There were lots of cornsnakes though. I had to choose between her, and an albino kingsnake named Chunk from Petco. Albinos are almost guaranteed to get adopted, so I chose her

How kind of you! I don't think I've ever seen a milksnake at a commercial pet store before though, that's really interesting. Was she pretty expensive?
Also.. I know your troubles of escaped snakes.. Our ball python got out a few times when we first got her and once just a few months ago. I can never remember to put all of the things back on her cage after feeding her lmao :P

Apparently no one likes milksnakes except for me. People want corn snakes and pythons instead. We have a few Petsmarts and Petcos in our area and she was the only milksnake. She was pretty cheap, compared to the pythons. She was $69, but I didn't pay anything because my mother-in-law got her for me. Which, btw, was hilarious because she's terrified of snakes to the point where she starts shaking when she sees one.

I'm hoping this velcro I hotglued to the tank will hold up for a while. It'd be nice if it worked until she outgrows the tank. She never tried to get out until just recently, and now she won't stop. She's learned too much D: She's been climbing to the top and once she realizes she can't get out she'll give up for a few minutes and then climb up again.

She is the sweetest. She's getting better about snakes. I got her to hold Paprika for a short while.

Yeah C: There are a couple different ways of saying it. "Red next to black is a friend to Jack, and red next to yellow will kill a fellow." My favorite one is "Yellow touching red: you're dead." When I first decided I wanted a snake, I wanted a Pueblan milksnake. Those ones are the ones that look like corals. Paprika is a Sinaloan milksnake. But now that I have her I can't see myself with any other snake.

I love both, but milksnakes are definitely my first choice!

Aw, man; it's always like "Dude.. why do you always have to eat my fingers and stink all over me?" And I don't really mind the musking; garters are one of my favorites to be honest, but the unnecessary and aggressive biting always turns me off. :)

Paprika is such a sweetie <3 she's never struck at me, but sometimes when I'm feeding her she'll pretend to be a rattle snake and shake her tail (which is totally understandable, since she's defenseless when eating). Other than that she's incredibly calm.
