It was unusual for a new model Synthoid to be made. Even stranger that the creature that was built looked more like a Wyvern of myth than the actual specifications they had uploaded.
The scientist who had been working that night had been present when A-SEE-063, was brought online. An eerily similar incident had occurred then, but the synthetic that was built matched the prints of their very first design. At that time, what they had actually input into the system was a model similar to the original Araaska, albeit with several upgrades to the overall appearance and capabilities.
What was </i>not <i>similar to that night was the fact this Synthoid suddenly went berserk shortly after it came online. Although there were precautions in place for incidents like this, the scientist was the only one who had been overseeing that nights manufacturing and did not expect the events that followed. However, if he had fathomed the possibility of that instance repeating--and he would never admit this aloud to his superiors--he still would have chosen not to activate the security nets or attempt to power the Synthoid down.
It may have been the fact it was off-model. It could have been that it tore through the facility and burst out the windows, a feat thought impossible by the production designers. It may have even been the shock of the moment and a lacking desire to get in the way of the rampaging creature.
In reality, it was what the creature murmured just as it stepped off the production line, staring directly at him.
This gorgeous line art is done by the amazing Matesprite on FlightRising! This is a gorgeous rendition of Minrathos, the "wyvern" model Synthoid. I could not be happier with how this has come out so far and I am incredibly excited for when they lay down the colors! Right now they are only possibilities and not completely assured, so we will see how that will be coming out. However, this amazing piece was done perfectly and I am joyfully amazed that they found my thread and offered to do this piece!
