Like the others above, the feeling and weight of that is mutual with me as well. I help friends who struggle through the many hardships of life, as the rest of you do with those you care for as well.
It's a difficult road but to see them happy and working to get better is its weight in reward. Though is it wrong to say that I don't, personally, think much of my own happiness? Or let others know I'm unhappy just as they are?
Where do you draw the line on how far you're willing to forget your own unhappiness or troubles to help others you care about?
Is there such a line?
Personally, I don't know if that line exists. I push my own unhappiness out of my mind and process of thoughts so I can help my friends. You don't need to be 100% happy to help someone else. If you know how to help someone deal with something than that's all you need. I don't believe that you need to be happy in life to help someone else, because the drive to see a loved one succeed can be higher and motivating when your in a similar situation.
Real strength comes from when you're knocked down in the lowest possible way, where it doesn't feel like success is capable. But it is. That drive comes from that lowest point.
