What started as quick sketch quickly snowballed into a fully colored labor of love. I have had these characters in mind for over a year, but tabled them until I improved a bit with digital art.

Odysseus is an Earth Pony who obsessed with writing the next great epic novel and this is why his Cutie Mark is a scroll. He loves the great stories of old like the Iliad and the Odyssey (the pony equivalents I have yet to think of). Since he is so driven to write this novel, he has no use for ponies who climb up on shelves of the Golden Oak* like Eris. Eris is a very small mare who looks almost like a filly and this is why she can manage to fit into these shelves. Mind you though, what she lacks in size she makes up for in determination. So ignoring the rules of decorum and common decency, she climbs the shelves to get the book she needs. Eris loves figuring out what makes ponies tick and thus her mark is the Greek symbol for psychology, psi. Despite this interest in knowing what makes ponies think the way the do, she often has trouble catching social cues.

Somehow though, they end up falling in love.

But that is a story for next time. ;3

*This story is set in an alternate reality in which Tirek never destroyed the Golden Oak library and it is a part of Twilight Sparkle's castle.
