I often have a hard time explaining what I mean when I say I have a soft spot for fat characters. I generally only like certain kinds. For example, I tend to prefer characters that are cartoon fat (like this one) characters built like a well-packed cube of impervious fat and muscle, able to take thousands of bunches and send the hurt, over more realistic looking fat or characters that are blob-like. It also depends on how much the drawing is about how fat the character is. I generally prefer less emphasis over more, unless they're in a battle, then I don't mind seeing the character use his gut as a weapon if the picture's done right and tastefully. I abhor pictures of fat characters that use their butts, though. Eww.

This is pretty cute. He's built tastefully and he has a nice, confident expression.
