HOORAY for art installations.

This place was a lot of fun. There were 2 floors of great material I'd have loved to photo, but they don't own the copywrite, so camera's aren't allowed.

Where was this art display? It looks like it was a lot of fun.

Mass MoCA in North Adams MA. It's an artsy museum (among a few other things) that is built inside an old factory, closed in the 1980's. The building itself is very interesting, and being a photographer, there was so much to photo. Even the hallways to the bathrooms on the basement level were interesting. :) Come on by and check it out!

I've heard of that place. My friend Matt saw They Might Be Giants in concert there once and said it was a neat space.

Did we ever tell you about the time we were camping out in North Adams? Shawn was out on the lake at the campground in a raft and heard these bouys whispering. We then found out there was an installation there which had those bouys sampling and mixing ambient sounds with other audio files, such as german romantic poetry. It was a real trip to go down to the lake at night when it was quiet and here the random whispering sounds. Freaky!

Oddly enough, the very first time I visited MoCA, I walked right into a They Might Be Giants concert. ;) I stayed for a moment, and realized when I left that I somehow passed right buy ticket purchase and wasn't asked to stop. Just my luck.

And I've heard about the whispering bouys. I'd still like to visit those!

Tilt-A-Whirls were the SHIT! Though my favorite was the old Round-A-Bout!

looks like those rides have never seen the outside before, super clean...

They look clean in this photo, but they had their rough spots. I'm sure they were cleaned for the exhibit. Once you get up close, you can see darkened and used metal.

Wow... this one got a double-take out of me. If I didn't know better, I'd say this was the EXACT Tilt-a-Whirl that I rode on years ago!! The only thing that doesn't match is the choice of color lights...

You never know! This ride was in operation at one time, taken down, cleaned, and used for thid display. ;)
