Sooo it's kinda hard to explain so I'll make it in steps x3
1)You need to get an amp that has a "Output" jack, this means you'll be able to get the signal from the amp somehwere else. Keep in mind to keep it in clean, always, the disortion, if you want it, will come later
2)You need a DAW like Reaper, which is pretty awesome
3)You need to download VST plugins which are called aaaaa... I don't remember... I think it's Poulin le cab pack? Something like that
4)Open your DAW, launch the vst plugins, record, using fx over your clean track to make it sound distored/phased/Equalised any effect actually
Now I suggest you watch videos on youtube cause my way, this way of recording is not easy and it's not that good X3
