Anything math-related goes over my head. I barely passed pre-algebra and algebra. As well as geometry.
In high school for geometry, it was my Senior year, and the teacher was like I'll pass you if you can show me you know the basics at least, so we worked on the board a bit and I was able to squeak by.
In college I took a pre-al course. I studied my ass off and tried so hard, but I ended up doing crap on the final test in the end..but the teacher said I saw how hard you worked and how hard you tried and studied so I'm giving you a C.
Only by God's grace, I swear.. XD

Well if I end up taking math classes again when I go back to college in the spring I might have to take you up on that. :p
I just..can't math. My whole academic career. Never could math well.
In high school I took a class called Integrated Math which was mostly based on logical word problems and such. I aced the hell out of that class. In fact when I got a B on a test I argued it trying to get an A, and I had a friendly competition going with a friend of mine to see who'd get the higher grade at the end. (It was me.)

A lot of math teachers do not present information well. This is a common problem. Most make the excuse that they want you to think and learn this on your own with only a basic idea. For someone who has no work basis to go off of, and little to no observational understanding, evidence, or knowledge, this isn't easy to do at all unless you have a real talent for it.
It angers me sometimes when teachers talk this way when they don't seem to realize that pioneers of creating this stuff had an understanding of it already in some way, just needed to implement it to paper.
But an example of why I say guarantee. I taught someone who only had an understanding up to basic pre-algebra. Taught him Algebra 1, Geometry, and most of Algebra II in the course of about two months, going two hours a night on skype voice call/text, 5 days a week with an occasional break here and there for games and stuff. He is now capable of doing Calculus in college and finds it fairly easy.
It just comes down to how the information is presented to you and when it will click. Everyone can do math, they just have to want to and a willingness to learn.
