She deserves to fly again. Her sister Ptichka resides in a hanger in Kazakhstan with a prototype orbiter, both covered in dust and look identical save fore the prototype not having any markings painted on it. http://www.thelivingmoon.com/41pega.....hers/Buran.jpg

Buran is OK-1.01. Ptichka is OK-1.02. Those were the only two space ready orbiters, and Buran flew once. OK-2.01 is built,but pretty much left alone. An empty shell.
I like both the US and Russian shuttle programs. Too bad they never flew together as in my sketch.

I was at nasa and they asked me how many shuttles there was, then i told them that there was 9 shuttles in total
The steel test frame from nasa, the fake test plane they tested on the back of a boeing, the 5 shuttles (only 3 remain); challenger, discovery, colombia, atlantis and endeavour.
And the 2 russian shuttles, buran and ptichka.
They didn't know about the russian ones, which is so weird, nasa sold them the drawings even.
It's a shame that russia didnt use the shuttles.
Tho buran, i have seen it IRL, they towed it on the river in front of my house to a museum in germany.
I was totally smacked, staring at it, a bloody space shuttle on my river.

The Buran you saw was the OK-GLI, it had four jet engines on the back and was Russia's version to our Enterprise. The real buran is still in the destroyed hanger,buried under the collapsed roof, she's gone. :( The others are here and there. Ptichka and OK-M in another hanger, OK-GLI in Germany, another OK test orbiter as a converted diner, others were scrapped, and the third flight orbiter OK-2.01 named Baikal, was left in the open, partly completed. http://www.buran-energia.com/blog/c...../lang-pref/en/
