Tilikum was 1 of 3 wild born pups. His mother was inexperienced and while trying to forage food ventured too close to human territory. She was poached by some of the human residences and her newborn pups stolen from the nest to be sold off as pets for a quick buck. Tilikum was bottle fed and quickly develops into a clingy, spoiled, and affectionate Juvenile against all odds. He grows up playing with his owner’s children and their pet cat, never coming in contact with any of his own kind. However, once he hit about 6 years of age his owners try to introduce a young female in hopes of them bonding and eventually breeding when they matured. Tilikum had other plans though and aggressively attacked the young doe out of fear. The incident has since set off a chain reaction of territorial and aggressive behavior in him towards other Volatikai. His owners now keep him separated from the doe to the best of their abilities. The two Volatikai still clash from time to time and Tilikum is always the instigator. His owners have considered re-homing or releasing him but are reluctant due to his human rearing and young age.
Overall Tilikum is incredibly friendly and affectionate towards humans and his owners. The husband and wife duo raised him after all and he frequently cuddles and follows them around like a happy house cat. He treats their kids just as affectionately and considers them his playmates. Those of his own species are a different story and they suffer from his growling, hissing, nipping, and scratching. Him attacking his Volatikai housemates is a regular occurrence in the household.
