Reminds me of a design i had once in an old story of mine. My design had the gatling guns mounted on the back and a second varient with rockets/mortars on the back. Very nice.

See I would find gatling cannons to be more twards the front or side, but I can't see them on top. That usually where I always see missile pods attached or something like ion cannon, railgun,etc.[large energy weapons].

ah, i only had my spider mechs with gatling cannons ontop because it wasn't set that far into the future. The spider mechs were AI controlled virus carrying machines. I'd have to link you to the story on DA for you to understand what I'm meaning.

But depending that era's level of technology anything can really be equiped to a mech. It just takes a little imagination to make it work. :-P

Ya, I've been into mechs for along time. Right now I'm actually working on a Armored Core based mech. It's going to be a heavy class assault mech equiped with two 2x3 missile pods on each shoulder, a gatling cannon mounted on the chest, two semi-automatic assault rifles, and a grappling hook.

Most of my mechs are based off the Gundam Series with some zoid series kinda stuff mixed in. So my stories were made up of humaniod mechs and animal mechs.

I think I lean more twards homan lookin mechs rather tan animals.
