You can mimic no-headgear with the contact lenses - I don't think it changes the character model from the base. You might have to play around until you get abilities you like, but that's the eternal struggle between style and effectiveness for you.

Playable Octolings would be cool; I think playable Octodad would be funnier, though! No control or aiming necessary - just run around like an animated Sprinkler waving your arms everywhere!
