I love my country. I love being Mexican, and I will never be afraid or ashamed of it. I really like the place where I've grown up and the things it has taught me so far. But as all countries, mine is imperfect. It lacks lots of things like equity and oportunities. The gap between the very rich and the very poor widens more and more each day, with prices rising and minimum wages remaining awfully low, it is hard to see the beauty behind the first impression: behind a mask of poverty and corruption, of falseness and insecurity, of a country that could do lots more with what it currently has and yet is unable to take advantage fully.
I still love Mexico. I love its landscapes, its culture, its traditions, its people, its perception among other countries, its liveliness and kindness, its desire to be something else... But among the things I love most, is certainly its food. Mexican food is after all a representation of its culture: varied, taking the best of other cuisines and combining them with the local spices, herbs and ingredients to make scrumptious delicacies. I absolutely love tacos, mole, enchiladas, burritos, chilaquiles, chiles rellenos, pozole, barbacoa, churros, tortilla soup, sopes, molletes, entomatadas, guacamole, enfrijoladas... They all drive me crazy! I guess it sorta shows on my frame that in the end, you actually are what you eat... Huh?
This quick pic (which I'm soon going to scrap due to its poor quality and general silliness) was inspired by one conversation I had with a particular friend of mine
hdalby33 who made me realize that I resemble a particular avocado-based filling wrapped into a doughy tortilla. Also, guess who has been getting into cooking more and more (or as much as my college life allows) by watching a group of English dudes bake all sorts of recipes on YouTube? (Hint, see that word in the bottom right corner? Yeah? You might want to look for it in said webpage).
Finally I wanted to make a pic regarding the celebration of the Mexican Independence Day, September 15th, a day upon which we celebrate the start of the fight for our freedom and our equality of rights.
SIDE NOTE: despite what you might have heard, 5 de Mayo is not the national holiday. It is an imporatnt day, but not the Fourth of July Equivalent. Just clearing that up inc ase you were confused...
So yeah, we still have lots of things to do before I have a justified reason to be completely proud of my country. But in the mean time, I guess I will stick to trying to be a better person myself.
A race is completed one step apt a time.
Or in the case of Tzin a waddle and several orders of salsa-drenched tacos, por favor!

"Mexico is a wonderful country but unfortunately at the moment it is in an unfair state.... so here is a picture of a very delicious taco and a drawing of a fat dragon stuffed into a taco."
Don't worry, Tzin. You may not have unified and resolved the peoples of Mexico with this picture, but there hasn't been a single kaiju attack in my hometown since this was put up and honestly, I don't think it's a coincidence!
Also, share some of dem tacos, please?

Hahahahaha Well, who'd knew! That's the almighty power of tacos I guess! I should post these images more often, then! I'm sure Kaijus are also gorging on some kaiju-sized tacos themselves! Everybody should eat tacos at all times just to see if that is a viable solution for our problems, huh?
However... now that you've brought it up... NO! They are my tacos!! *rolls sideways and away*

Heh, you bought to life your spirit food. Seems you were destined to simply fill the rolls of a doughy taco from the looks of things. The way you captured your giant green butt wrapped in a flour-baked belly is incredible; very nicely done. And as for your tacos, well I suppose we'll need to stuff you with each and every one for the glory of your Independence Day and wonderful culture! Time to stuff the taco to the brim.
Also, your depiction looks wonderful as always. The style, coloring, and chubby expression on your face here are awesome. Your drawing skills are wonderfully rich and capture the true essence of...a stuffed taco.

Be one with your food-self. Become your true desire... (quite literally)
Hahaha, thanks Callum! And keep those tacos coming! There's plenty of room inside this tortilla-of-a-belly! There is nothing wrong with eating overfilled tacos! *keeps stuffing all kinds of goods into my mouth*

Well, every country has it's beauty, for sure! No nation is perfect and we all have stuff to be proud ad to feel ashamed about... The thing to consider here is that a nation does not shape its individuals but the other way around. It's through our actions that we make our surroundings a better place for others.
So cheers for that!
So cheers for that!
personally, I think that you can't go wrong with some tacos (the real ones, not the hard shell ones, those ain't tacos!)... Although right now I have a huge craving for a some good enchiladas and a large heap of guacamole... but that's just me! To be fair, the key for maintaining the proper size is rather quantity over quality, so eat away! :3
