The titan leaned back into the celestial construct one could call a chair with a victorious smile. "Checkmate" she grinned as she backed the war gods King into a corner.
"A lucky shot." he exclaimed, troubled to keep his calm demeanor.
"Oh really? So this would make this my...third lucky move in a row? One of your brethren truly must be smiling at me today. Or not, if they knew that you were conversing with me. Again. But I have to give you that, at least you are fun."
"Bah! What does the rest of the pantheon know? They don't see the beauty in slaughter, the grace in moving around the mortal pawns to my bidding. You on the other hand do seem to enjoy seeing my work."
"Oh I do, as long as you keep them away from my territory that is." the titans grin broadened a little as she continued "But lets take a step back, you're saying that it was nothing but luck that I beat you?"
"OF COURSE IT WAS NOTHING BUT LUCK!" Ares exclaimed as he slammed down his fist next to the board, all Coracroma could do was widen her grin as she set the pieces back into place. "I am the god of war! I invented the game!"
"Then how about a little challenge?" her left head licked her lips seductively. "If you win the next game I will yield to your pantheon and you can be celebrated a hero among gods, but if I win..."
The doberman leaned in closer and whispered her proposition, Ares's eyes went wide with surprise as he heard her proposal but then his brows narrowed as he himself broke into a menacing smile. "We have a deal" ...

Another Breathtaking piece I got from my favorite Mantis
Whitemantis it is one part of a short series I commissioned quite a while back but didn't want to upload it before I could muster up the motivation to write down the accompanying story as I truly believe the piece (s) deserve it. Among all the amazing pictures Nae has drawn for me these two are my favorites, I love how the colors turned out and especially how she hit Coras composure in a calm situation spot on! It also is the first time I was able to further Coras storyline a little by introducing other characters, as we can see here the only Greek god she gets along with just fine: Ares. They are both hotheads and love to "play" with mortals, also Cora appreciates that Ares is one of few gods that likes to focus on his godly "duties" over the feud with the titans as a whole.

It saddens me to think people don't read those now, it's not exactly an epic length novel, and just those few lines add so much to the drawing.
And I meant the little cliche of giants using actual people as chess-pieces, not just ones shaped like people.
By the way, I forgot to mention, I was surprised to see the line "They are both hotheads and love to "play" with mortals", mostly that first point. I mean, there have been many instances shown of Cora teasing and messing with mortals (Although it feels like most of the time the mortals did something that annoyed her or otherwise got her attention first) but she never really came off as a hothead to me.

Yeah.. It takes me quite a lot of effort to get myself to write them as I'm always worried to misrepresent my own characters and that I'm simply lacking the talent to even write blurbs like this... so It makes my heart jump that they seem to get recognized <3
Oh and she is a hothead! Enter her territory uninvited or don't pay her the proper respects and she's right up there with Zeus himself in general pettiness. Armies have fallen because they took the wrong step order.

(Late reply I know, sorry)
Huh, I admit I feel a little embarrassed then because I never realized that. In the art I saw of her, she kinda came off as someone who found mortal's antics more amusing than anything else and was sometimes forgiving because they amused her, I realized she was strict and hotheaded.

Nah, don't worry, it didn't hurt the character.
I admit I am having a little trouble telling the difference between strict and hot-headed. I mean, I know the difference between the terms, but the mention that she took out armies because they used the wrong step order sounds more strict to me (Unless I am confusing the terms... do you mean the took our her own army because they marched in the wrong pattern?)
And like I said, this didn't really hurt the character. While true I prefer the nicer ones, the only ones I really dislike are the rampaging mashy-stompy-bitey kind that just crush, kill, and eat people for no reason just because they can, Cora isn't exactly a saint, but she certainly doesn't come off as "evil" either.

Ah! I see now.
First if all , I'm glad you're still able to enjoy the character. And the wrong step argument was intended to show off how petty she can be (Just as the actual gods of her world) she wouldn't kill thousands of humans just because one stepped wrong. But she is easy to offend (have you ever read about Greek mythology? Zeus gets everything the wrong way xD EVERYTHING.) that's what I tried to imply. She can get angry over the pettiest of things if in the mood. That's what makes her a hothead. If she were strict she'd enforce actual laws, but that she doesn't do.
I have to second the dislike for "destruction for destructions sake" macros... Cora certainly isn't one of them, as you said she isn't a saint (far from it) but she would never hurt without a reason (However small end petty it might be.)
