1)Modelling with Zsphere. It's very easy and fast to model something.
2)Start sculpting. Press 'A' to preview 'Adaptive Skin' then increase it's 'Intensity'.
3)Painting.
4)Finished. I did extra sculpting on the model.
I spent about half a day on this model. ZBrush is very powerful and useful tool for modeling and painting. :)

seconded... you make it look and sound quite simple, though I'd wager there was some hidden work between frame one and two: the difference in detail is far too noticeable.
Zsphere... Zbrush... hmm.... thats right, I remember now... I've seen others model with Zbrush as well, though the item I'm thinking of in particular involves an animation of a woman transforming into a dolphin, complete with sound effects and music and the such: an artist named Gryf handled that one.
....yeah, definitely need to try this program some time. your work on this dragon head is excellent, thanks for sharing:)
