...I...am incredibly shocked at how well this turned out. .3. Initially I was going to try and do other things today, but then I got hit with the urge to practice backgrounds again...an underwater background. So, I went searching for examples to try and practice off of, and I found one that looked easy enough to try. c:

the tones and colors are so lovely, and the sea critters add so much life to it :D
the bubbles are just the finishing touch :) they add more color and life as well.
the glow on the outside of the cave makes it look like the sun is reflecting u3u

Awwww why thank you~! It was kinda tricky trying to find the right colors from the picture, since trying to do the dropper thing usually left me with too light a color or just simply black, so I had to play around with the filter on SAI. XD I had fun playing around with the crab and shark design on the pic though! 0w0 Just don't ask what species of shark it is because I have no idea. XD
I LOVE those bubbles. They almost look magical--or like those bubbles you would see on a summer day playing with bubble wands. ;;v;;
That part was the easiest, although I could probably do more to make it seem more like there's glowiness from the sun. 030

I'm still terrified of the ocean AND sharks myself. .3. And yet I did this. WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!
