During the summer, the loamata builds a nest with the fur they have grown over the year. One can differentiate the type of Loamata that live in these cocoon like nests by the way the nest has been woven. The Nightmare Loamata neatly binds it's nest, eliminating the friz by grooming it, which also gives the nest a glossy appearance.
The Daydream Loamata braids it's nest, then fluffs it. The Nightdream Loamata fluff up the fur, then twirls the ends to secure it. One can find the nests dangling off the branches of berry bushes.
A Loamata is born each time a dream/nightmare comes true. The newborns are covered in peach fuzz, and has a tail that helps them hold onto the beings which dreams/nightmares became reality. The first week of birth, they are unable to fly, their tail progressively becomes shorter until it falls off by the end of it, and it's the only time, in which their eyes are harmless to other creatures.
they rely on their eyesight in the first week of life, since their other senses and muscles are weak. Once the new born flies off at the end of the week, their eyes (a) start to enlarge the iris and the retina. As a juvenile their eyes (b), even though powerful can only put one to sleep for 28 hours . By adulthood, the iris and retina have grown to it's fullest capacity, allowing it to put one into an eternal sleep. :)
