Martin in "Claustrophobia"
Commission for
for his friend

Story of what is going on:
After the sun sets on the first day of summer camp, Martin the Gecko climbs into his sleeping bag, ready to go to bed after setting up his tent. He’s unable to sleep at first, after hearing a group of his troublemaking classmates laughing and causing commotion outside his tent. Suddenly, his tent zipper is forced open, and he is grabbed and picked up while he’s still in his sleeping bag by one of his most athletic classmates. The giggling group carries him in a random direction far off into the dark forest. His cries of protest are ignored.
After a long while, he is placed on the forest ground. Several of the bullies pin him to the ground, as another proceeds to stuff his mouth full of clean socks. When not one more sock would fit, Martin hears the loud sound of duct tape unrolling. Before he could spit out the socks, his mouth is duct-taped, with the tape tightly wrapped around his lips, cheeks, and back of the head several times over. His muffled shouts are muted and very far-away sounding.
Using belts, ropes, and other binding materials, the bullies proceed to tie up Martin while he’s still in his sleeping bag, effectively mummifying him inside. They tie the opening shut tightly over his shoulders and around his neck so he can’t wiggle out. After each of his narrowest parts are tightly belted, trapping him inside, they leave him there, laughing as they retreat back to camp.
Even when Martin was discovered to be missing later that night, the bullies were not even sure where they had taken him. Because he was carried off randomly in the dark a long distance, they couldn't retrace their steps. A search party was sent out with flashlights to find him. It was almost dawn before they found the still bound, gagged, and struggling gecko. The experience was at least partly the reason for why Martin is slightly claustrophobic to this day.
