Well, the lemurs were all done without reference ofcourse, just like most of the random animals. When drawing animals I look up photos from different angles and try to make my own version of it. I can draw Donald (and some others) without reference by now, only if I really want to mimic a specific style, I read those comics/watch those cartoons. You can clearly tell which ones I did after watching wartime shorts and which ones I did after reading Dutch comics. For José and the fourth caballero I looked at the movie/concept art. The characters I never did before (Daffy, Bucky Bug, Droopy, Alfred, etc), were all done using model sheets or other references. I never directly copy drawings but I try to mimic the style that I like best. Last, for the wolfes I read comics done by Carl Buettner and Dick Matena and tried to mix those two styles. I don't really have my own 'style' yet so I just mix in the things I like best. Same goes for the Mickey drawing, I drew him in the early 40s animation style but gave him comic book-type ears, like Floyd Gottfretson and Daan Jippes drew them. He also has comic-book eyebrows X)
