Evoker? Summoning spells aren't Evocation spells, they're Conjuration spells. Evocation deals with the creation and control of energy... Fireball, Lightning Bolt, Magic Missle, THOSE are Evocation spells.

Sheesh... Japanese game developers need to play more Dungeons and Dragons.

..... Yes but.. Persona =/= D&D.

In Persona 3, the characters need the use of a hand-gun like object called an Evoker. They put it to the head and pull the trigger, which summons their Persona.

In the original Persona games, once someone "awakened"" their Persona as needed. Summoning a Persona is basically reaching into the Collective Unconscious and yanking out one of the many Yous that exist.

Ahhhh... so they get stronger by shooting themselves in the head?

O.o The Japanese are weird.

It's not them getting stronger. Their Personas become stronger over time. The Evokers are only used to break down mental walls and allow the Persona to emerge.

Still. They transform by shooting themselves in the head.

Yeah, there was a lot of "What the hell is Atlus thinking?!" when the fans first heard about it.

In Persona 4, they summon their Persona by destroying a Tarot card that contains the Persona.
