Here is something that I’m afraid to actually put online.
It’s perhaps the most simple drawing I ever published. Actually I didn’t draw it. I picked up a pencil today at work and it drew itself. …and I don’t know what it means or where it came from, but I think it means something and it is torturing me and I feel great unease looking upon it.
This night I had a round of lucid dreaming and it’s been over 20 years since I’ve done something like that. And the unreality of my night projected itself into my day and this image (as simple and inelegant as it is) thrust itself from my hand …and I cannot get it out of my mind.
So, for insanity’s sake I’m putting it online here to push the image to those that must see it. If it means something to you please let me know. It brings uneasiness and some foreboding to me.
The only way I can relate it to you is that Chthulhu is rising and he IS projecting his insanity to the artists of the world to foretell of His coming.
Or perhaps I’m just insane?
I might modify this image for color but everything in my soul tells me that it is pure as it is and I can’t think of another thing I’m supposed to do to it.
I rendered it in pencil first but transformed it into pure digital and that is all you see now.
I’m done with it.

The spathi are a race of octopi like cowards that were a part of the Star Control 2 game. this is a very old (early to mid 90's game) game. it's code has been released to the general public, and there is a site that maintains it still. visit the Ur Quan masters site if you'd like to know more.
start here. http://urquanmastershd.com/ it's fun. there's a furry race in it, an avian race, an athropoidal race, a Fungoid, a clone race, and even some washington grey style aliens. there is even one extrademensional. We don't find the creativity that was present in this game today.
I have met the Pkunk and they are precious! And they have given me a spindle (and of course their love). X) I have four of their ships accompanying me...though I'm not sure what use they are. I also made an alliance with the Phot, Bot, Pik or something like that. This game is a hoot! :)
I see a number of things, A 3rd dimensional projection of a 4th dimensional body in the manner of a 2D graph of a 3D body - which could evoke an Einsteinian model of spacetime or non-euclidean tesseract-shapes in general;
A model of the structure of some Molecular body of atoms;
A geometric shape irregularly broken into it's "skeleton" of lines and vertices - as well as several other abstract shapes in this vein that shift as I look, and thus a model that varies based on perspective;
a constellation, an optical illusion, a dreidel etc.
As for it's mystic connotations (if there are any beyond the realm of dreams) i couldn't say as I do not dare but guess on as to that which is "Supernature."
I like to think it's a Cosmic Muse trying to give shape to a new form of expression.

This is one of the more interesting pieces that you've done. It reminds me of the kind of art you'd see in a filing with the US Patent office over some kind of device. That or its the concept for something having to do with a space-age bachelor pads. Hence my martini comment.

Ah now I understand what you mean ...heh, yes it's retro like that, much like me. X) Esquivel! Excellent reference. I have two of his albums from a long time back. Music from the Space Age. I think space is where the idea originated.

This is still a mystery to me and still a source of dread. I wish that I COULD explain it, but I cannot. There is something cosmic about, as if the eye of some superior being was watching, looking down from some galactic plane and judging and judging harshly. I think there is a prophecy to be fulfilled here and my tiny brain was giving some glimpse into the "other" ...but I'm too primitive to understand, like some animal that sees the bullet but doesn't know what it does. It came to me in a vision dream and its fruition could be tomorrow ...or well beyond our terrestrial lives.
I come back to this picture from time to time. It is very interesting still. I wonder what kind of shapes are depicted - after all there are small inconsistencies implying the shadows are off. I don't think it is error, however.
