Little Donny Hopper is the only child of the town's doctor (his father) and the town nurse (his mother). He's very studious mainly due to his overbearing mother. Rusty sees him as a kindred spirit (as his own mother fusses over everything he says and does too), taking on a "big brother" role for Donny.
