Abandoned Boeing 747SP

The Boeing 747SP44 F-GTOM is an aircraft of the French airline Corsair which is officialy "stored" (which would mean in another language "abandoned") on the airport of Châteauroux-Déols. There's at least 2 B-747 abandoned on this airport, the other one is a Greek one.

The funny thing in this story it's that the most important aircrafts deconstruction center of Europe is on this airport but it's not here for be destructed, it's there since 13 years.

Without its engines, there's very little left for it to be recycled, except as soda cans.

Sad, as the SP is one of my favorite planes.

I would say around US$60 million, maybe less. But now I'm sure it could be sold the twice of its price if it was restored, only 45 exemples were built.

I really don't see how we can't be impressed to see a 56m long four-engined airliner in the neighbour's property, exeption is make for those who live next of an airport or in Qatar... :D
