Trident revolver (Book 2 chapter 23)
I had fun writing this, though it took awhile to get the words down...hope you enjoy1 Filled it with as much epicness as I could. and got creative with digivolution Anyways...Kiya belongs to
Kiya Drakon you're awesome BUD! :3
Trident revolver
It didn't take much longer than a couple seconds for Leviamon to cover the distance to the Eastern regions shore. By then, Kiya had already digivolved into his Coredramon form and grabbed Scavenger in his claws. "We'll be back Leviamon, wait for us near the shore!"
The massive leviathan simply waved it's tail at the two companions before sinking into the water, needless to say a MASSIVE creature like Leviamon would cause a panic so this was for the best.
With that said, Kiya turned to the vast mountain ranges ahead of them. The entire Eastern region of the digital world was filled with them, so finding Azulongmon's hiding spot would definitely take a bit of time, and that's when an idea formed in Kiya's head. "Hey Scav! Do you remember how you could...sense the distortion within Leviamon?"
"I'm already on it bud." Scav's eyes closed as his tiny paws gripped Kiya's larger ones in flight. "I'm sensing a high concentration of negative energy about... about...ten kilometers North east of here."
Thankfully, their previous engagement gave Kiya all the practice as a Coredramon he had needed to properly maintain the digivolution. It made their way through the vast mountain ranges that much easier now that he had the proper experience. "Anything I should keep an eye on?"
It took them a few minutes, but they covered the distance with pretty good time. Scav started scanning their location in Kiya's claws, before pointing to their left to a mountain vieled in a thick white fog. "Right there. The Negative disturbance is on that mountain."
The mountain he pointed at wasn't particularly big, and had no special defining features about it. But it had been the only mountain with a perpetual fog, showing no signs of lifting anytime soon. With a steady flap of his wings, Kiya began his descension into the fog, slowing his landing to make sure he didn't land on anything painful, like say a thorn.
Once they were safely on the ground, Kiya took the time to revert back into his Dracomon body. "Alright...from this point on you take the lead Scav...I can't even SEE through this dense fog so we'll be relying on your acute sense of sight." Kiya took that moment to call Lyle out of his digivice, the Liamon appeared relieved to be out of the small device.
The trio started making their way down the mountain and Scavenger was thankful that his hightened senses as a dragon remained even as a digimon because it gave him a clarity in the fog that would have left them stumbling off a cliff otherwise. "I think I see a cave down this steep hill. I can't caution this enough...be careful if you need to, hold onto my paw...Erm...for you Lyle...just keep your eyes focused on the ground and our feet."
Grumbling at the comment, Lyle hesitantly followed behind his two bipedal comrades. Even with his feline senses he was loathe to rely on Scavenger's eyesight as they made their way into the cavern.
"Hmmm...the misty fog does not extend within the cavern. But why was there such a thick fog out there in the first place?" Kiya asked, clearly puzzled but now they had to rely on Scav's eyesight in the dark, lest they bump into a wall or fall into an unsuspecting pit.
The orange and blue scaled Agumon kept his eyes peeled, looking for any sort of branch that he could use for makeshift torch, but in the end gave up and relied solely on his vision. "If this is the mountain containing the Dinohyumon village then the fog we encountered might be a defensive measure to ward off intruders."
All of a sudden, there was a shaking in the cavern as the trip struggled to keep themselves upright, following up the shaking was what sounded like an angered roar wait...not anger, it sounded more like misery. "We need to make haste. I am worried about Azulongmon!" Scavenger growled out. "There's no obstacles in our path just run forward! Kiya use your G shrunen if you feel the need!"
Kiya was about to voice an objection but Scav dissapeared just as quickly into the darkness, with a grumble he ran after him. "Wait for me!"
"Why am I always the last?!" Lyle asked in a growl, chasing after the two reptilian digimon.
It took them a good couple minutes, but eventually, they found themselves in a brightly lit room, Torches plastered on the walls. Actually...the term didn't even justify it, there was an entire village! Or rather was, each building looking as if it had endured signifigant damage with several Dinohyumon laying on their backs, data pouring out of their wounds.
Scavenger immediately walked over to the most injured dino, grabbing his wound and applying pressure to it as data for a digimon was just as important as an organics blood. "Hey! What happened here? We'll get you patched up okay?!"
The Dinohyumon that Scav had began tending too was a rather tough looking figure, he had several scars along his body much as Smithy had. And a longsword twice the length of his body laying at his side. He clutched at his stomach over Scavenger's arm and growled. "D-Daemon...He showed up...and attacked the village. He...demanded we hand over Azulongmon!"
The thought horrified Scav, he'd heard about Daemon from Leviamon just before flying into the region, he was known as one of the most powerful of the seven demon lords. And him being here of all times couldn't be a coincidence. "Tell me...where is the entrance to Azulongmon! We need to get there before Daemon can do anything to him! We're on a mission set in motion by-"
"I know why you're here..." The Dinohyumon grabbed Scav's clawed paw and growled, somehow forcing the digivice the Agumon had into existance. "Store...the village in your digivice so they can recover...Then..." The Dinohyumon coughed up bits of data and saliva, growling low. "Go into the hut at the far end of the village...you can't miss it...It'll be the hut positioned under a set of torches...if you look at it from the proper angle...it'll look as if a blazing crowd was placed upon the building. In there you'll find the entrance to Azulongmon's temple!!"
Kiya watched the whole scene, a look of horrer in his eyes as the Dinohyumon suddenly vanished in Scavenger's paws, the data that remained of him scattering into the air. "He's gone..." The Dracomon whispered out, feeling sick to his stomach. He noted Scavenger's current facial expression, there was a fire in those eyes, and a cold, quiet collected air about him. Inside he knew that the Agumon was mourning the loss of the warrior digimon. "What's the plan...?"
Without a word, Scavenger began loading each villager into his digivice. By the time he was done, the screen on the device read that he had reached capacity and he digitized it. He at last, grabbing the Dinohyumon's longsword he had left at it's side, giving it a few swings he nodded in satisfaction. "We're going to kick Daemon's ass. That...That Digimon's feelings were very clear to me. There was sadness...and a care for his fellow villagers that transcended the need to preserve his own life. He conveyed to me...in that one moment every emotion that was running through him."
Kiya nodded softly, he understood perfectly. Not many of Scavengers friends knew it, but the dragon or...as he was in this world, AGUMON, had a unique power to look into a persons soul. And somehow always perfectly understood their true intentions beneath them, making him sensitive to anybody he came within close contact with. IT was a very intimate connection that very few could ever hope to understand or feel for themselves and he could only wonder what effects that had on his friend. "What...was it then? Anger? Because...I heard plenty of growls."
Scavenger shook his head, grabbing the longswords sheath and belt, strapping it sideways to his waist. "It's...not anything I can really answer definitively. There was...anger yes, But there was also fear. Fear for his fellow digimon, and concern. And regret. I think he just didn't want things to have come this way. I've felt so many people in my life, but never as intense as I have with him. Digimon...even though they don't die like we do in the real world. They're afraid of it. They don't WANT to be put in that situation, they want to live in peace." Once Scav managed to find the secret passage to Azulongmon's chambers he roughly snatched one of the torches from the caverns walls. "They hurt like we do, and anybody who would undermine that needs to be punished."
Kiya and Lyle both nodded in agreement. With a proper torch now, they could proceed without needing to rely on Scav's own senses, that made this an even playing field for them all. "We do Scav...We live and love just like organic creatures do. We may be made of data but we want to exist just like any human, dragon, or wolf."
Scavenger didn't have much time to react, he wanted to get to Azulongmon as fast as they could get there. "Here Kiya catch!"
"Gah! Don't throw fire around!" He shouted, balancing the torch between paws in an effort to keep from burning himself, when he finally got it under control, Kiya sighed with relief, but then let a smile escape his lips. Despite being slightly upset by the disregard for safety, the fact that Scavenger had even done such a thing meant he was back to his old self. "Just remember to not act a fool infront of Daemon kay?"
Lyle stared at both, given the fact he was the only quadroped in the group meant he could out pace either dragons but he stayed behind to make sure they had strength in numbers. "Who us? Please...We'll be on our best behavior...After we tap dance on his head."
This got both Scavenger AND Kiya to go wide eyed, before bursting into laughter. "You can tap dance? And since when do you joke around?" Scavenger called out, genuinely surprised.
"I don't joke around...You two should know me by now." Lyle snorted, his tail twitching in annoyance. "But I've come to believe that between the two of you there's not really anything you CAN'T overcome."
Scavenger and Kiya looked over one another, before nodding in agreement to Lyle's proclaimation. "I couldn't have said it better myself!" Scavenger responded with a grin. Scavenger eventually stopped right in his tracks, teeth clenched as he observed a red robed figure infront of what looked to be a great eastern style dragon, hand wrapped around it's neck. "Stop right there! Move away from the dragon or get cut in two!" Scavenger proclaimed, removing the longsword from it's scabberd and holding it infront of himself in a defensive stance.
The robbed figure turned around, removing it's claws from the dragon's neck. Upon closer inspection, two horns protruded from the sides of the intruder's head. two wings tearing from the robes embrace and a silver necklace with what looked to be prayer beads threaded along to form the string. Only a pair of purple eyes could be seen between the tear at the face of the mask, then just as suddenly a deep voice eminated from the figure. "Three comrades...Westerners. You arrived far too late to complete your task. I've already stripped Azulongmon of his powers, his rank and removed any sort of threat he may have upon our organization."
Azulongmon, pulled himself from the ground with some effort, data pouring from his wounds. He gave Scavenger and Kiya a look of regret and slumped back to the ground. "Leave...and take my villagers."
"Like hell! We're here to rescue you." Kiya growled out, digivice at the ready. He seemed hesitant though, Last time he digivolved to ultimate he nearly went beserk. So rather than evolving to ultimate, he shifted back into his Coredramon form, Scavenger likewise became Geogreymon. The two friends prepared for whatever would come their way. "G-shrurunen2!"
As Kiya was prepping his attack, Scav opened his jaws wide and let loose a mighty flame to go along with the beam of light. "Mega flame!"
The two attacks merged into what looked to be a flaming laser, aimed squarely at Daemon's head. When the dust cleared, the demon lord looked unaffected, not even so much as a smudge on his cloak. "How pitiful. The high lord gave you a command. You would risk the villagers on an act of revenge?"
Scav winced, this wasn't how it was supposed to go, then with horrifying speed, Daemon managed to close the distance between them, his left hand expanding and grabbing Scavenger in a deadly grip, threatening to crush the Geogreymon. "Two digimon...You believe two champions can defeat the likes of me?"
Suddenly, Lyle sprang forward, his great paw slamming into Daemon's face, a deep throated growl coming from him. "THREE champions."
When Lyle removed his paw, he was in shock that Daemon's expression within his hood had not changed. Furthermore he'd not managed to make the demon lord take a step back in recoil. "Ah I forgot you were traveling with a kitty cat. The Master Builder of the west...It's a shame you can't be persuaded to work for us. We could have used your master craft to build a mighty fortress." With his right claw, Daemon wrapped it around Lyle's neck, causing the feline digimon to flail and struggle in the air, gagging.
"Let them go!" Kiya roared out, his eyes going red as he began to digivolve once again. His wings transforming into a secondary pair of massive claws, as he digivolved into Groundramon.
"Hooooh, so you did have a trick up your sleeve afterall. What a foolish mistake to think you could challenge me without digivolving." Daemon taunted, removing his claws from both Scavenger and Lyle as Kiya's tail hammer slammed into his chest.
Finally they got a reaction out of Daemon, his tail sending the Mega level back a couple inches. It wasn't much but now they had a chance. Kiya's eyes focused on the demon lord while growling out what sounded to be an order. "Go to Azulongmon...I'll occupy Daemon!"
Scav stared into those eyes, They had the mixed reaction of anger and fear, as if Kiya were struggling just to keep from turning on his friends. "A-Alright. But I'll be right back to give you a hand! Lyle back him up!"
Running with purpose, the Geogreymon stomped forward toward Azulongmon, kneeling at his side. "L-Lord Azulongmon! are you alright? Can you stand?"
The great dragon struggled to lift itself from the ground, staring at Scavenger with a weary expression. "I've been stripped of all my power...I am not worthy of that title anymore."
"Nonsense." Scavenger shook his head, helping Azulongmon up into the air, as was his typical stance. "You aren't the high lord of the east because you're a powerful dragon. you have an insight that very few can understand. You've seen the events to come and have paved the path for us to set things right. You were aware of us before the creator had even birthed us. I can't imagine anybody having a more worthy title of the name Lord of the east."
Azulongmon kept his gaze on Scavenger a moment longer, then looked onto the battle before them. Kiya was holding his own against the demonic digimon, but Daemon had yet to strike a proper offensive. "He's...toying with Kiya. He knows that any attempt to rescue me would be fruitless as I am beyond saving. There's not enough room to contain me in that digivice. You have to do something you probably won't like..."
Scavenger kept his eyes locked on Azulongmon, he would have crossed his arms, though they were being used to support the great dragon. "What is it exactly?"
"When Blade returns, he'll have to take over my position as head of the eastern tribe. And my sincerest apologies for getting all of you involved in our worlds affairs." Azulongmon took a great breath of air into his lungs, before a bright light enveloped both he and Scav.
Kiya stopped his assaults long enough to stare at the orb of light that had engulfed his friend, Likewise, Daemon seemed concerned, not quite expecting this new developement. "He's giving his life for a lesser being? Fool..."
Inside the light, Scav and Azulongmon locked eyes with one another, suddenly the Geogreymon understood and gave a nod in understanding. "Do it. Let's put an end to this unecessary bloodshed..."
Azulongmon closed his eyes, moving closer to Scavenger, his body starting to dissapear into the Geogreymon's reptilian form. A red metallic chestplate started shaping around his torso, grey wires hooking up to what looked to be a bluish sphere at the center of his chest. From the back of his new cybernetic torso, sprouted two rounded mechanical wings, with white pointed edges, looking to be some sort of laser cannon system with thrusters set at the end of each wing. His helmet started changing color, from the dull brown color into a metallic silver shine, his final change to his body turned out to be his left arm. It was replaced completely with what appeared to be a massive beam rifle. With time, the light surrounding Scavenger started condensing around him until he realized it was actually being soaked up into his body like a sponge, and when the light had faded from the outside world he had completed his transformation. "Rizegreymon!! Shine mode!"
"Did he say Shine mode? How rediculous. There's no such digivolution in the archives." Daemon responded in contempt.
Finally, Scavenger opened his eyes and that's when it became apparent. His scales were actually shimmering, each one sparkling like it's own light. "You won't find it in any digimon archive. Azulongmon and myself have tempered our souls in the forge of digivolution."
Daemon scoffed at the notion. "Tempered your souls have you? So it's merely a DNA digivolution! Get over yourself. Flame inferno!" Daemon boomed, his hand pointed towards Scavenger as black flames began to ingulf the cyborg dinosaur. "Your response time in that NEW form is really dissapointing...hmm?!" Daemon stopped taunting the Rizegreymon, something wasn't right here. Scavenger hadn't even ATTEMPTED to avoid the attack, he was just...sitting there! As if the inferno was having no effect on him whatsoever.
"DNA digivolution involves the combined evolutionary line of two digimon, after which the two digimon would seperate. No...our cores have perminantly merged together. He lost his ability to be reborn in a digiegg due to this transformation. But I won't let his sacrifice go to waste. By the way, my response isn't lacking." Scavenger started off the thrusters on his back, snuffing out the flames in an instant.
Daemon's posture changed completely after this developement. He gave both Scavenger and Kiya a cautionary glance. "That dragon had enough power left to boost your power this much? An ultimate level digimon should never meet the standards of a Mega. Much less a great demon lord such as myself."
Scavenger sighed, letting out a few trails of steam from the exhale. "You don't get it do you. Azulongmon didn't understand at first either. It's not the power that makes you a lord. It's what you do with your position. And he's already proven in this selfless act that he was more than worthy of the title. Blade would have been proud." Scav then lifted his beam rifle to bare and growled. "Trident revolver!!"
Scav's arm shot forward in recoil, three blasts of energy shooting forth in a triangular formation. The strangeness of it all however, was the fact that they looked to be of different elements. The first shot hit Daemon square in the chest, freezing it. The second shot hit him with a blazing flame that started burning the cloak he was hiding within and LASTLY, a beam of light came crashing into his face. Sending Daemon flying into the closest wall.
"S-Scav what was that?!" Kiya called out, completely dumbfounded, he de-digivolved back into his Coredramon form, completely dumbfounded. He expected some form of a power boost after Scavenger hit the ultimate stage, but this was pushing the limits.
The Rizegreymon shook his head, he used his one clawed paw to gesture for Kiya to get behind him. "It's not over, There's no way I deleted him with one attack."
The walls crumbles a bit Daemon's claws poking out of the crumbling remains. His cloak had been completely burned away, showing his true form, his arms and legs were brown furred, with the pentagram tattooed on his shoulders, bone like claws protruded from the fur ending at his elbows and kneecaps. All three eyes of Daemon's, glared with hatred towards Scavenger. "You've ripped my cloak off of my body. I did NOT like that one bit. But it's my fault for underestimating you. It shall not happen again."
Scavenger simply nodded, rubbing his arm cannon a bit. "You understand your mistakes and attempt to correct them. You're on the right track Daemon. But why do you wish to disrupt the natural balance of the digital and real worlds. You were once a Seraphimon. A mighty and wise digimon that many looked up to."
Daemon turned away, starting to make his way to the caverns entrance, when Scav started making his way to intercept he lifted a single claw. "Don't test your luck. Do you really think you can defeat me? all you managed to do was destroy my cloak."
The Rizegreymon growled, glaring at Daemon's direction but made no move towards the provocation. "As long as you seek to disrupt the lives of countless digimon, I will continue to chase after you. We may as well have our battle now."
This got a chuckle out of Daemon, who instead of stepping through the stairs, crafted a portal right infront of Scav's eyes. "If we were to continue this confrontation within this space we would end up crushing ourselves by making this entire mountain collapse. Our grand finale will be within the dark network."
Scavenger's eyes went wide, running after Daemon but it was too late, the demon lord had dissapeared within the portal, closing thereafter. "He's gone. Damn it...But we managed to accomplish one thing. Daemon won't be bothering the Dinohyumon village ever again."
Kiya and Lyle stepped cautiously behind Scavenger, both weary of their friend. "Uhm...Scav...was what you said true about Azulongmon?" Lyle asked quietly, never letting his gaze fall from the cybernetic dinosaur.
Kiya and Lyle cringed with each step Scavenger took, with his size, and the damage he'd caused to the space within Azulongmon's chambers it made both very nervous. He looked over both his friends, nodding solemnly. "Azulongmon is a part of my core...As Leo is to Max. There's...a chance he might have a digiegg but I don't know where the high lords go when they're reconverted."
Lyle nodded, eyes starting to water a bit. "We...should leave this room. Once the villagers have recoperated within your digivice we set sail alright?" With that, Lyle started making his way up the stairs back to the Dinohyumon village.
"Scav?" Kiya asked, putting a claw over his friends organic shoulder, and smiled softly. "It'll be okay...We didn't get Azulongmon's blessing but we rescued a lot of lives."
This took Scav back, he started de-digivolving into his Agumon form and smiled when Kiya did the same in his Dracomon form. "Did we not recieve his blessing after all? He set his hopes on us, and gave his life to give us a new digivolution. We set out to do EXACTLY what our mission was. And we only have the south to deal with now. Azulongmon lives within me now, and somehow...I doubt he would have wanted that battle to continue any longer."
Scavenger placed a paw over Kiya's shoulder, the two friends starting to walk out of Azulongmon's former chamber. They had a lot of work to do, and the first line of buisness would be to help the Dinohyumon rebuild their village and cope with their new loss.
