I believe it feels harder to shade celshade wise because with soft shade it is easier to get away with not knowing exactly where the shadow should go but still keep it nonflat...
What I mean is, you did a good job showing where the light source is coming from whereas in your softer shaded one, a light source doesn't look as defined as some shadows are in places where they shouldn't be but for this one it is not the case.
I'm guessing the light is coming from the top in between them due to this shadows although I have to admit darkening the top corners does make it a bit confusing.
Also more for shading hahaha... The background is softly shaded... I think you should have made it hard like kn the characters. This is especially since shadows get softer when the source making the shadow gets further away, so it looks like the foot of the character on the right isn't even touching the floor...or his body isn't really touching the bed...
Also don't be afraid to be really liberal with the shadows. For the character on the left, they could have their hair behind their ear thingies almost completely shaded for example.
Unless it is of the species, but the one on the left's arms are really thin... Especially after the second joint and they look a bit... Jelly like, like it has no bones. But the arms on the other character are fine.
The eye right eye of the character on the right seems to be a bit off.... Like a bit too close to the nose. That lock of hair makes it easy to mess you up with that though ^^;
Anyways that's it. Ahhhh I do like the expressions in this hahaha. The guy on the left has a great facial expression, I like how his tooth is out like that, it looks adorable hahaha. And I enjoy howbhe is slumped like this, it really gives the body language along with the text and the face like uuugghhhh you taste horrible hehe. I think the whole expression would be brought home, though, of his tail was dropping down instead of pointing towards like that. But still it is well done and I like how you shaded it like this, gives it a nice furry illuson.
And then the one on the right, I like that upright position they are in ... It reminds me of deer in headlights almost ha-ha, but it works because of what has been said. And the overall position is really working well.
Yess good job Pita! ^^
Thanks for the feedback. :D
Anyway you're welcome @u@ I hope it was useful to you!
