Work in progress head base for a full digitigrade suit due for MFF this year.
Foam work is almost done, just need to install the electrical components and then vacuum form the proper set of eyes and color, eyes are not finished just pop-ins for the photo's.
This suit is
kabier's character Coby the Cockatiel!
Suit work is mine

Thank you! Foam work has always been a strong side of mine and I make sure to put every detail I can into it, I strongly believe the foam work should be as good as the final product especially since it's the skull in a sense for a suit. The better the base the better the furring. And believe it or not all of that was literally carved with a pair of scissors XD
I've been trying to do this eagle head sculpt and doing the beak has been a odd situation. Something that confounds me even more because I know beaks are supposed to be simple pattern wise, yet I couldn't pull it off.
This is a stunning example of simple, clean, and well made perfection right here. The felt reenforcing strips are also a great idea. Adding those are always my favorite part. :)

To be 120% honest, this was my first ever bird XD I also told myself I would never make a bird, I really dislike them because one attacked me as a child heh so I was like eh screw it lets go for it, now as I started sculpting I was like wow this is going great! The beak espescially, I nailed it first try but I somehow get lucky with species I've never made before, the beak though my best advice at least how I do it, look at the character, then look at a real eagle, I try to pattern out both on paper then create a median on both that has a tooney look and flow I over compensate the pattern a half inch then attach both sides and bam! One added bonus I did to make it more shapely do to the species I actually used a heatgun to give it a nice curve and shape. Now after the beak the biggest challenge for me and spent over 38 hours on this base was the eyes... Holy freaking crap! Getting vision out of that was so infuriating but after much to tinkering I found a solution. So all in all I think as a first not bad at all. The beak as for you best of luck man, I' offer help if you ever need some advice or input :p
