this paper fellow actually bares a passing resemblance of Shining Armor... I also find myself curious as to why he's called paper? From what I know of the MLP universe names usually closely relate to what they end up doing in life, or what their cutie mark is all about. So when I think paper, I think novelist, or mailman, or something like that. Not royal guard.... Was he the guy who read royal decrees off a scroll? Hereyee hereyee!

Nope. Paper has the talent to use paper in many shapes.
Swords, hats, Origami. Paper can build nearly everything with paper.
Also as weapon, if you remember the page, where Paper fell under the
dark magic and got to "Sombra 2".

I haven't had the chance to read the story that came before this, so I'm not at all familiar with the character. Thank you for the explanation though, That really does explain the name.
