Don't turn around - just run!
So I got my hands on a Sinclair ZX81, for those of you who are not familiar with those, it's a computer waaaay back in the early 80's that was SO ADVANCED for it's time it played video games stored on CASSETTE TAPES.
The graphics of course, are very basic using mainly ASCII text and so on. One of crowning achievements of this computer was the game 3D Monster Maze - possibly the first survival horror game that puts you in a labyrinth with one way out and a HUGE T-Rex hunting you down the moment you start moving.
Even as a very simple and rudimentary game, my heart always starts racing when I am going down a corridor and the text flashes up saying "Rex has seen you" or "Run! He is beside you!" and you know if you turn around you're going to see the scariest text-based monster ever! D8
