One can wonder why it's there. Is it a creature that's been turned into a lifeless corspse? Or is it a statue placed there, as a warning for what's next?

yea i loooooove the first 3 metroid games. no wait. 4. fusion was decent. they need to do another 2d metroid. its like castlevania, its not GREAT unless its sideways. lol

I never got to play trough the second one, but the rest of 'em are sweet. Even tho I think the first metroid can be a bit of a pain in the ass, haha.

yes it can. i spent a whole summer when i was 12 working through that game. and it became one of the best games id ever had, just because the dedication i put into it. lol.

I had to draw myself a map as i went along, so I could keep track of where I needed to go and such. xD

nah. i get too distracted by maps, i could work my way around that entire game just by mouth without having looked at a map that's how directed i got to be in that game. i played it on and off constantly so i got very understanding of the layout of the game, now you want to talk about a metroid/castlevania game that has an insane map.

keep in mind you cant step on all the floors and most every wall you have to push on to make sure you cant fuse through it. lotsa fun.

ive played this game since i was 5 years old. im 24 now. i still havent beaten it. but i do love to play it but never really committed to finishing it.

story, that's the whole point of the creepiest thing about her is that shes a freaking mystery and so is the world.

As a metroid fan (my favorite was 2 on the GB) I can totally appreciate this.

VERY nice; good to see that there are still fans of it out there =P I've played all of them (Haven't beaten 1 or 2 though, or Hunters) with the exception of the Pinball spin-off, and I've got to say that this is one of my fave game series -EVER-. All the 2-D ones and Metroid Prime (2 was so-so...soundtrack fucking rocked though X3) are, in my opinion, some of the greatest games ever made, and to this day Super Metroid is ranked as one of the greatest games of all time =3

I agree, and what was cool is how they put tid bits of metroid 1 in it. like the beginning entrance and mother brain. im sure there is more but yea, it rocked. lol, oh and screw attack, greatest weopon ever in video game history.

I still love that game. I remember it like an old dream where you replay the same game from your last dream but remember the layout of the game. It is so darker then, like a bad vhs tape and not enough lighting on the tv. Most areas that get so creepy you seem to be put on the spot at first person...

That's what those 3d metroid should have been. Side scroll, then zooms you in at a blurry staticy first person like a pleasant nightmare. >=]

Awesome. There's so much world-flavor lying around in Metroid. I wonder what someone could do with it. I've been tempted to try and find Metroid fanfiction. yea, i agree. i love that metroid really didnt need a story and the one that came with the nes instruction manual was completely ass backwards from the character. it described samus as a bionic man. yea right, that only made the character more mysterious especially when at the end of the game you find that its a woman, and not only are you totally cool with that but also you feel lied too. lol.

yea, metroid needs to have another game hopefully 2d or even 3d thats not 1st person and it should be completely aimless. no tie in to other metroid games just straight fun. like the nes and the gameboy games were. pure awesome.
