For this final "Throwback Thursday" of August, 2015, I offer the second of two 'photo-ops' taken at ZooMiami (formerly known as the Miami Metrozoo) back in the late 1990s - when I took my good friend from NYC, Linda Meris Skwer around portions of Miami-Dade County during her visit to the 'Sunshine State'...
One of my favorite sections of the zoo is the Asian animal exhibit, which included such rare fauna as the Komodo dragon (the world's largest lizard), and the clouded leopard. But my personal fave was the Asian river otter. Some of you might recall the 'photo-op' I'd posted of one of these mischievous mustelids placing with a rock in the filter at the edge of the man-made pond in its enclosure (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16430541/).
Well, this time, I have a whole family of Asian river otters, running amuck throughout their enclosure. And when they aren't climbing the rocks or rubbing their scent glands on the logs and branches, these frisky critters can be found swimming about in the man-made pond (which spectators can get an underwater view of, in the lower level of this compound.
If you'd enjoyed seeing these 'photo-ops' taken at ZooMiami, let me know, and I'll consider posting more of them during my next 'sweeps month' (September, 2015).
