I started working on this pouch sometime this afternoon, and this is the point ive gotten up to. I cant finish it until I have the snap fasteners I ordered for the flap closure and PALS strips. I also decided to go with a center pleat in the pouch because no one does those anymore and they look nice. This pouch will fit a whole roll of duct tape in it, so Its a decent size.
This pouch is made to be able to use as either a dropleg pouch, or as a regular MOLLE attached pouch. Tomorrow Im going to sew on the loops for the vertical belt hanger. The Fastex buckles in the picture are really for show only, when I get the snaps In Im gonna take those off ans use 2 snaps for the flap. The extra webbing will be sewed back to make a tunnel for shock cord. Overall im pretty happy with this. Its essentially just a giant sized version of the iPhone pouch I made yesterday.

Good idea. I went shopping around for these and found these two products:
http://www.urbantool.com.au/
http://grabitpack.com/
But the first is more for city business types and the second is more for hikers. So designing one that actually suits what you want to use it for it a most excellent idea. Plus it looks well made too.
